RESCHEDULED Troop Elections TOMORROW

Troop elections will be held at tomorrow's Troop Meeting. It is very important that every Scout attend. Your elections allow you to choose your troop leaders for the next six months. Plus, we must have a quorum to conduct elections, so your attendance is critical. As a reminder, all Scouts running for election should be prepared to give a one-to-two minute speech detailing why troop members should vote for you.  Scouts may run for more than one position in the Troop so long as they feel they can fulfill the duties of those positions for the next six months.

All Scouts registered with the Troop on March 21 are eligible to vote in the election so it is important to attend.

Please direct any questions to ASM Stephen Cook who is in charge of elections again.  Please remember that a parent must be copied on any email to a leader.

Thank you Mr. Cook, for leading our electoral process again.

Welcome New Scouts

We look forward to seeing our new Troop 1910 Scouts the upcoming Troop meetings and especially at our Tenderfoot campout at the end of the month.  Scouts and families, please join us in welcoming the newest members to our Unit that crossed over March 5.  Excellent job by the SPL team and those at ILST.  Thanks to all the ASMs and Committee Members who were on hand to assist.

Remember, too, what it feels like to be the new face in the crowd? Extend a hand, introduce yourselves and welcome our new family members aboard. There will be lots of questions in the weeks and months ahead but the excitement of a new scouting generation is here. We look forward to meeting you all and seeing new faces at our Committee Meetings and at our upcoming events.

Welcome to Troop 1910!

Save The Date - Annual Swim Test

Volunteer Opportunity on 3/26

If you are not able to attend the 3/25-27 Tenderfoot Campout, our Troop’s charter, Golden Triangle Rotary Club has a service opportunity for Scouts to help run a couple of water tables at the upcoming "Casey's Kids Fun Run" on March 26th at 8am. This will be a joint venture with the Rotary and all of the 1910/1920 Scouting Units.

Casey’s Kids was formed in 1997 when Janie Casey, a former Keller ISD counselor, discovered that a student was missing school because of a lack of clothing. This student’s need led Ms. Casey to find a way to provide clothing to students in need.

Shortly thereafter, Keller ISD Council of PTAs took on this endeavor and along with the PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality, Casey’s Kids continues to provide students with clothing plus school supplies, grants, and other essential items so our students don’t have to miss school.

This year Casey’s Kids is excited to partner with the Keller ISD Health Expo to increase awareness of Casey’s Kids and healthy lifestyles.

March Campout

March's camping trip will be held March 25-27 at Worth Ranch in Palo Pinto. The program will focus on TENDERFOOT SCHOOL which is a great opportunity for our older Scouts who need to teach a skill for a sign-off to help out the new Scouts who just crossed over from Cub Scouts.

The best opportunity for leadership is to make yourself available to lead!

The Permission Form may be found HERE.  These are to be turned in to Mr Hunt at the Troop Meeting

Grub money ($15 per scout / $20 per adult) will be due at the March 21 Troop meeting.

Investment in Character

The Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America is currently conducting an Investment in Character campaign (previously called Friends of Scouting). I think you will agree Scouting is truly an important part of what makes America great. The principles that Scouting teaches are as relevant today as they were when the Boy Scouts first began over 100 years ago.

By investing in our youth through the Investment in Character Campaign, you can help direct young people into a program that stands for what is good and right in today’s world. The Investment in Character Campaign is designed to allow you to join hands with the Longhorn Council to help ensure a quality Scouting program is delivered to young people in the North and Central Texas area.

We plan to have an Investment in Character Presentation conducted by a district volunteer representative in the near future. This meeting will be the kick-off for our annual Investment in Character Campaign.

Once again, thank you for your consideration of this request. Together, we can help deliver the promise of the Scouting program.

From Troop leadership: If you are already familiar with the previous FOS fundraiser, and know that you are prepared to contribute, you may do so online, as you have done in the past at: https://donations.scouting.org/#/council/662/appeal/661.  BE SURE TO INDICATE YOUR DISTRICT AND UNIT.

The campaign is basically the same as FOS has been in the past. If we reach our goal of $10,080, we will again receive free cloth patches in the following year (2023) just like we are this year.

Are you ready to ensure a strong program for tomorrow's leaders?  Donate today!

Crossover 2022

Saturday, March 5 is the annual Crossover hosted by Troop 1910 for all incoming Arrow of Light Scouts who have graduated from Cub Scouts. This is our official welcome to bring these new boys into our Unit and the Troop family.

This year Crossover will take place at Hills and Hollows at 2:00 PM following ILST. All Scouts attending ILST are expected to help support the Crossover ceremony for our incoming AOL’s.  Remember what it's like being the new face in the crowd? It can be scary and intimidating so while this may be old hat for you, this is brand new and the beginning of their time in Scouts BSA. All hands on deck to make this successful and welcoming for our new families.

We will need adult help setting up the monkey bridge on 3/5 (we will start at 11am). If you can assist, please visit with leadership at tonight's meeting if you can assist.
