Saturday, August 8 is our Annual Planning Conference (APC). 

All Scouts are welcome to participate in planning the next year's calendar of events (2022) consisting of monthly campouts, summer camp destination and more.  More information to be announced. 

Eagle Scout Project Volunteers Needed

  

Saturday, July 24 from 8a-2p (with a potential finish date of 7/31) at the Keller UMC Resource Center, 1025 Johnson Road.

Scouts and volunteers will be painting and assembling shoe cubbies for the Clothing Ministry.

Please bring water bottles, work gloves, older clothes suitable for painting, sunscreen and hats.

Safe Sanctuary Reminder

As we move back to more and more in-person meetings, I thought it prudent to provide a continual reminder to please ensure that when you're attending Troop events, you're logging your attendance on our Safe Sanctuary log.

 As part of our agreement with our Chartered Organization, Keller United Methodist Church, we maintain the strictest adherence to the BSA's Youth Protection Guidelines, but going a step further, we also ensure we are in compliance with Keller UMC's Safe Sanctuary policy.  

Part of that is to keep track of the attendance of all adults at our events. This helps us know your active status as well as helps to maintain a record for ensuring Safe Sanctuary guidelines are met.

In the past, we kept a logbook for each person to have to sign into but we've automated this for you...

If you log in to our website from a mobile device, just beneath the red title header you should see a black triangle pointing down.  Press that to bring up a list of Pages from our site.  Scroll to the bottom and choose "Safe Sanctuary".  This will take you directly to the two-question form.

Additionally, if you're doing this from a desktop or choose the "Desktop view" from the webpage, there will be a blue icon like seen above) in the right-hand margin. Clicking that icon will take you to the form.

We appreciate your effort in helping ensure our records are accurate and that we maintain strict protocol enforcement for both YPT and SS guidelines.

Deadline for Rank Advancement

 

Deadlines for Rank Advancement and Merit Badges for the next Court of Honor (August 9) are as follows:

• TONIGHT - July 19 will be the Last Day to sign up for an Advancement Board of Review (BOR).
• July 26 will be the LAST DAY for all Completed Rank Advancements, Awards and Merit Badges to be entered into Scoutbook

As a gentle reminder, ASM’s are not allowed to sign off in Scoutbook rank advancements for their own Scout.

Troop Meeting Tonight

   

Friendly reminder that the in-person Troop meeting will be tonight at 7pm in the east parking lot.  

Texas Rangers Scout Weekend

Attention all Rangers fans! The BSA weekend has been announced at Globe Life Field -- August 27-29.

There is not one, not two, but THREE games to choose from! You'll get to watch the Texas Rangers take on the Houston Astros.

Those in uniform attending on Sunday will be able to participate in a pre-game parade around the warning track - you will need to be there an hour early. See information on the flyer below (click the image to open full-sized flyer or download to your computer).

Everyone who orders their tickets through the form will receive a commemorative scout patch (while supplies last). A photo of the patch is available on the registration form. Pricing varies depending on where you want to sit.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to get your ticket registration forms in SOONER rather than later. Anyone that would like to participate together would need to submit their orders TOGETHER to ensure that the seats are all in the row otherwise the orders will be processed on a first come, first served basis. This is not organized through the Troop, we are just sharing the information about the opportunity.
